The MRT is currently closed for the season. The normal scheduled date to re-open the trail is 5/1/2012. Be sure to check the MN DNR website since the opening is occasionally delayed by a late spring.

For 2012, the PBFR MC will sponsor an enduro and a club trail ride. The club will hold a youth enduro on 8/11 and an AMA sponsored enduro on 8/12. We will also hold a trail ride Oct 20 and 21.Check the Events link at the top of the banner for specifics.

If you plan on trail riding on Aug 12, please use the trails west of M64. All trails east of M64 will be closed for the enduro from 6:00 AM to 4:00 PM on that date.

The event information for the 2011 Akeley East Enduro has been updated. The trails are in excellent condition.

Please note the change in Youth event start times.

If you are trail riding on August 13 or 14, please use the trails west of M64. All trails east of M64 will be closed for the enduro from 6:00 AM to 4:00 PM on those dates.

The MRT is now open for the 2011 season. Due to the late spring, there may still be wet areas. Please tread lightly in those areas.

There will be an AMA Sanctioned Enduro held on June 26th. For safety reasons, all OHM and ATV trails west of M64 will be closed on June 25th and 26th from 6:00 AM thru 6 PM. All persons who wish to use the MRT during that period are asked to use the trails east of M64.

The PBFR MC will also meet at the Stompin Grounds the week-end to of June 18th and 19th and get together and ride the trails. We will also have a club party on Saturday, the 18th, in the campground area at the Stompin Grounds. PBFR MC members are extending an invitation to attend to riders who have thought about joining a club or just want to come have fun riding the MRT with us. If you are not familiar with the MRT, this will be a good opportunity to do so. There will be plenty of members there who will be glad to show you around the trail system. Our club has riders at all skill levels and many have young riders in the family. So, if you’re an experience rider, want to ride with your kids, or just starting, we should be able to hook you up. Primitive camping is available at the MRT trailhead, 3 miles north of the Stompin Grounds. Check our “Things to do/Places to Stay” link for ideas on other resort and camping options in the Akeley area. It will be a busy week-end so make reservations early.
